Privacy and cookie policy

This page explains what information is collected, why it is used and how you can exercise your rights.

Data controller

The data controller is Rémi Gay-Perret, operating independently under the trading name Remi Diving Mexico.

Tax address: Calle Daimiel II, exterior number 23, interior BI, C.P. 77724, Solidaridad, Quintana Roo, Mexico. This address is not open to the public.

Data collected

When you use the contact or booking form, the following information may be collected:

  • first name, last name, email address and telephone number;
  • dates of your stay in Playa del Carmen;
  • diving certification level and experience;
  • the content of your message and information needed to organise the activity;
  • technical and statistical data relating to your use of the website, according to your cookie choices.

Please do not submit medical information through the general form. Information required for diving safety may be requested separately at the appropriate time.

Recipients and service providers

Data is used by Remi Diving Mexico and, when necessary, by technical providers supporting the website and communications: o2switch hosting, WordPress, Contact Form 7 and the email service. After you give consent, Google Analytics and Google Ads may also receive technical data to measure website traffic and contact requests.

Your data is neither sold nor rented. It may be shared when necessary to organise an activity, comply with a legal obligation or protect legal rights, and only to the extent required.

Retention periods

  • Enquiries that do not result in a booking: up to 24 months after the last exchange.
  • Records relating to a service: for the duration of the relationship and then for the periods required by applicable tax, accounting, safety or limitation rules.
  • Cookie choices: 6 months before consent is requested again.
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads data: according to the periods configured in the relevant Google accounts and limited to what is strictly necessary.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, ask for its use to be restricted, object to certain processing and withdraw your consent. In Mexico, these rights include the ARCO rights: access, rectification, cancellation and opposition.

Send your request to informations@remidivingmexico.com, stating your identity and the purpose of your request. Proof of identity will only be requested when necessary to prevent another person from accessing your data.

Cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads

Necessary cookies

These cookies remember your privacy choice and provide essential website functions. They cannot be disabled through the cookie banner.

Optional measurement cookies

After you give consent, Google Analytics helps identify which pages are viewed and understand general use of the website. Google Ads measures certain contact requests, including successful booking-form submissions and clicks that open WhatsApp. These services are loaded only after you give consent.

You may accept, refuse or change your choice at any time by using the “Manage cookies” link in the footer.

Refusing optional cookies does not prevent access to the website, prices, booking form or WhatsApp.

International transfers and security

Some service providers may process data outside Mexico or outside the country where the visitor is located. Remi Diving Mexico uses recognised services and limits the data shared. Reasonable measures are implemented to protect information, although no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the website, service providers or applicable rules. The version published here is the version currently in effect.
