A confident first experience
Discover Scuba Diving is available to adults and children from age 10 who would like to try scuba diving without immediately taking a full course. No certification or previous experience is required.
You first discover the equipment, hand signals and essential skills in a protected area. Once you feel comfortable, we explore the underwater world at your own pace, to a maximum depth of 12 metres.

The ocean or a cenote?
Caribbean reefs
Akumal is known for its turtles, while Playa del Carmen offers accessible reefs with beautiful schools of tropical fish.
An open cenote
A peaceful dive in a shallow, bright cenote connected to the ocean and selected to suit a first experience.
You can also experience both. Combining an ocean dive with a cenote dive is an excellent way to experience two completely different environments during the same trip.

What is the minimum age for Discover Scuba Diving?
Discover Scuba Diving is available from age 10. A medical questionnaire must be completed before the activity, and parental authorization is required for minors.
Can I fly after the dive?
You should not fly on the day following the activity. Recommendations call for at least 12 hours after a single no-decompression dive and 18 hours after multiple dives; allowing a full day without flying makes your travel plans simpler and safer.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
You need to feel comfortable in the water and be in good general health. You remain accompanied throughout the experience.
How deep will we go?
The maximum depth is 12 metres. The actual depth depends on your comfort, the site and the conditions.
Can I choose between the ocean and a cenote?
Yes. You can choose the ocean, a cenote, or combine both. It is an excellent option for discovering two very different environments and enjoying a more complete experience. The final choice depends on your preferences, the conditions and availability.
What is the difference from the Open Water course?
Discover Scuba Diving is a supervised introductory experience without certification. The Open Water course trains you to become a certified diver.
